Tema was born on a drawing board in the 1960s — Kwame Nkrumah's vision of a modern industrial city. Decades later, that grid-plan DNA still shows. Living in Tema means cleaner air than Accra, lower rents, and a more predictable daily rhythm. The trade-off is fewer nightlife options and a 30–60 minute commute to Accra depending on traffic. Port workers, factory employees, and families who want space without the chaos choose Tema.
